Reflection

Learning about the pollution in our earth’s ocean is truly disheartening. Imagine all of those innocent marine animals who have to live with trash and toxic waste wherever they go. The ocean is their only home, and we cannot destroy it even more than we already have. I wasn’t fully aware that this was a serious problem until about 2 years ago when my aunt asked me and my brother if we could volunteer with her at a beach clean up. And after that, I was super conscious about everyone I was with, whether they littered or accidentally threw something in the trash that was supposed to be recycled. Notre Dame is also doing all they can for the students to recycle the correct way by putting a paper on what to recycle and what not to recycle on top of the recycling and garbage bins.
